In August 2007 494 Sqn hosted a week of fieldcraft and adventure training on the Sennybridge Training Area in Wales. The camp was attended by 60 Cadets from Essex and No 1 Welsh Wing along with 15 supervisory staff.

The week consisted of a number of fieldcraft lessons mixed with adventurous training activities such as obstacle course training.

The week culminated in a final exercise which made use of the Cadets newly acquired skills.
