494 Squadron held their open evening in May 07 to recruit Cadets for intake 003. The evening was well promoted with a well executed marketing campaign which attracted over 20 potential recruits and their parents.

Intake 003 began their 8 week basic training course on 8th June 2007 and will be enrolled as members of the Air Training Corps on 3rd August 2007 at the Squadrons annual awards evening.

Intake 003 is one of the largest in Essex with 17 new Cadets.
