The Civilian Committee
For each level of command in the ATC (Sqn, Wing, Region, Corps) there is also an associated Civilian Welfare Committee (CWC). This typically consists of a minimum of 5 members including a chairperson, treasurer, secretary as well as the OC. Financial control of ATC units rests with the Civilian Committee treasurer. The CWC is responsible for securing accommodation, fundraising activities and assisted the OC as additional staff cover when required. Each Sqn CWC in turn answers to their Wing CWC who in turn answers to the Region CWC etc. CWC often consist of parents of current and ex-cadets and former members of staff.

It is important to note that neither adult staff nor cadets have a liability for call up with service with the UK’s Armed Forces. Being a member of ACO does not necessary guarantee selection with any element of the UK’s Armed Forces.
